Xana- who?? Xana- do you know much I love this place??
I am always searching for new cafes/brunch spots around Orange County. I always have two major requirements, though… 1: you must have granola & yogurt. 2: you must have avocado toast of some sort.
So, when I randomly came across Xanadu cafe on Yelp one morning and saw BEAUTIFUL pictures of both items…. I headed over faster than you can say “brunch” the next afternoon.
I instantly fell in love when I arrived at this cute little Newport
cafe-equipped with excellent wifi-and learned a little more about the restaurant. They are cooking everything fresh to order, from scratch, with no oil. When I tasted the food, this was no question at all. Some of my favorite items are…:
Grilled Chicken Pesto “Tartine” or Sandwich : ok. this is amazing. It’s like a light, refreshing chicken caesar salad toast/sandwich. They make their own “Xanadu”/parmesan dressing and Caesar dressing- both delish.
Avocado “Tartine” : some of the freshest avocado toast I have ever had. It seriously tastes like the avocados are grown right in the backyard. The toast is so flaky, soft, and perfect.
Granola & Yogurt : Probably my favorite item here. I don’t know what it is about how they put yogurt, fruit, granola, and honey in a bowl, but it’s out-of-this-world.
Roasted Cauliflower Hummus Tartine : Really unique take on “toast” The hummus is super fresh, and you can tell the cauliflower is roasted to order!
Smoothies : The vitamin smoothie is amazing!
Service has been awesome, as well. The owner, Aaron, is almost always around and really knows how to run a business. He is super kind towards customers, and really works hard to keep them happy. Last time I was there, he accommodated a huge party that came in twenty minutes before they closed. That is true customer service.
I am obsessed with Xanadu Cafe. I will continue coming back and trying more items!
