If I had to pick like the top 3 places I have been and ate at, this would 100% be one of them.
I had previously been to Angelina’s for the first time in Dana Point (their other location) for a Yelp Elite Event. Ever since, I had been dying to go back, and the Irvine location just happens to be a lot closer to my house. When I first entered, I was in awe. The place is beautiful and much larger than the D.P location. 20/10 for decor here. I need to find whoever designed this place and ask them to come do my house…
I have been back to Angelina’s multiple times since this, and even brought the family for my mom’s birthday dinner. Not only is food always beyond amazing, but the entire team has pretty much befriended me. The general manager, Antonio, is one of the sweetest guys you will ever meet, same with owner, and all the servers. (If you can, request Gojko as your server- trust me) .
Some of my favorite dishes I have tried include…:
Calamari : Best calamari I have had that I can recall. So light, fresh, and delicious. Doesn’t taste heavy and fried like most calamari. The aioli dipping sauce is AMAZING.
Golosa Salad : One of the most refreshing, flavorful, perfect salads I have ever had. It compliments ANY dish perfectly. “Chopped romaine hearts, red onion, tri-colored bell peppers, artichoke hearts, pumpkin seeds, fontina cheese and chef’s refreshing mustard lemon dressing”
Melanzane Alla Parmigiana : This is basically eggplant parmesan as an appetizer. Divine.
Formaggio E Porri : OK this is a white pizza with ricotta, mozarella, and PORK CHEEK. Amazing. Don’t let the “pork cheek” scare you. Just try this pizza. Any pizza. They’re all so good.
Ravioli Mimosa : One of the top 3 ravioli dishes I have ever consumed. The ricotta/spinach filling was so light and creamy. If you order this, you won’t want to share. Trust me.
Tiramisu : Let me just say that my mom’s FAVORITE dessert is tiramisu. She has had it MULTIPLE places, and this was the best she had ever had. I agree completely.
Overall? When I am old and wealthy, I will live at this place and eat here everyday. I feel like I don’t even need to travel to Italy, because this is a little bit of it in Irvine!
