If you’re looking to eat a nice meal at the Spectrum and are sick of big chain restaurants like me, Brio is definitely your answer! Nestled near the parking garage across the street from Corner Bakery, Brio is the perfect little escape from the crowded shops and crazy shoppers. Sit inside or on the patio- either way you are going to love the relaxing, classy atmosphere. I literally felt like I was on vacation outside.
Service was great, even though they were super busy! All the hosts/servers I encountered were very friendly. My server, Sheila, was helpful and did not disappoint with her recommendations!
As for the food, Brio has a pretty wide variety of menu options; not just pasta or typical Italian dishes. (Yes- they do serve complimentary bread and parmesan flatbread which was HEAVENLY). In addition to daily lunch and dinner, Brio also has a weekday happy hour from 3-6 PM with AWESOME deals! On Saturday & Sundays, they offer brunch until 3pm ( I have yet to come for brunch, but really want to!)
Dishes that I Highly Recommend :
Spinach & Artichoke Dip – Not your average, heavy, cheese-hangover type of dip. Very light and makes for the perfect appetizer!
Sweet Potato & Chicken Risotto – If you aren’t in the mood for actual pasta noodles, go for this dish! Also very light- not your typical heavy risotto. I loved the little pine nuts and pieces of asparagus in this dish.
Brio Chopped Salad – The perfect, light, nutrient-packed salad to pair with any other dishes you order!
Fingerling Potatoes Brio – Whatever you do, make SURE you get a side of these. I figured they would just be like frozen potatoes, but NO. These little potatoes come served in a warm skillet, smothered in their creamy Parmesan dressing. Not like poutine, but like someone knew the Sauce Boss was going to eat here someday, and sauced her potatoes for her. I will continue to believe that this is the explanation.
DO NOT FORGET DESSERT. I wanted to skip dessert, too, but Sheila (my awesome waitress) seemed to REALLY like the desserts, so hey, why not!
Torta de Cioccolata and Caramel Mascarpone Cheesecake : life-changing. 2 of the BEST desserts I have ever let hit my tastebuds. Trust me. Rich, but not SO rich that you want to pass out. The perfect sweet-treats to end your meal.
Overall? Great place to eat, and they have a few other locations! I will be back to try other dishes. Dang. Now I am craving Brio.
Sauce Boss Suggestions : Creamy. Parmesan. Dressing. killer. Check out the mustard aioli as well!
