Turning 25 years old in the restaurant industry is a pretty big deal- so Wood Ranch is ready to celebrate on MONDAY, JUNE 5, by giving a FREE bottle of BBQ sauce to every table that comes in!
The first Wood Ranch opened its’ doors in Moorpark back in 1992. Today, it is still thriving, and the company has certainly grown and prospered! The hard work of founders Ofer Shemtov and Eric Anders has paid off, because Wood Ranch now has 16 successful Southern Californian locations and a whole bunch of awards :
- “Best BBQ,” 2017, Ventura County Star.
- “Best BBQ,” Los Angeles Daily News.
- “Best BBQ Sauce,” 2006, 805 Living.
- “Top 10 Kids Menu in America,” Restaurant Hospitality.
- “Best Barbecue,” The Los Angeles Times.
- “Barbecue King.” Los Angeles Weekly.
- “Best Steakhouse,” The Ventura County Star.
- Best Restaurant, Inland Empire Magazine
- “…High marks from locals for barbecue,” The Wall Street Journal
Just to name a few!
I am especially happy for Wood Ranch, because I recently discovered how much I actually love their food! I am not much of a BBQ-gal, but lately… that has really changed based on some new places I have journeyed- such as Wood Ranch!
The spacious and convenient Irvine Spectrum location definitely won me over- not only with food, but service as well! In terms of food, however, highlights include :
- OBVIOUSLY their garlic rolls! (Pro-tip : ask for them plain, and smother them in butter….)
- Kale Salad – and all of their salads for that matter! Large portion sizes, and just all-around yummy for a salad-lover like myself.
- Spinach & Artichoke Dip – OK, another thing I love. A lot of times, however, spinach dip can be just WAY too cheesy or rich. Wood Ranch does an EXCELLENT job at making a well-balanced dip that won’t put you in a cheese-hangover.
- PULLED PORK (!) – Wood Ranch makes the best pulled pork that I can remember. Honestly, chicken is pretty much always my protein of choice, but I wouldn’t even bother with anything BUT the pulled pork here! (The pork ribs and chicken are delicious also, don’t get me wrong. But the pulled pork is just SO stellar).
- Mashed Sweet Potatoes – Mmm…. More like dessert, so I would suggest sharing this as a side. Or just getting it for dessert maybe?? 🙂
- SAUCES! – Wood Ranch has a TON of house-made sauces and dressings, other than their BBQ! I LOVE their thousand island, Tahitian tomato dressing, and Caesar dressing!
Honestly, if you are in Southern California and want good, reasonably-priced BBQ and excellent customer service… Just head to Wood Ranch!
