As many of my long-term followers know, I have moved far across the worldwide pond to pursue my Master’s in Digital Marketing Strategy at Trinity College and am now happily residing in the lively city of Dublin. Life is grand here and I am making my best efforts to establish a little place in the “foodie community” here, although I have quickly realized that one doesn’t quite exist. Not to fear, as I am determined to change this!
With that being said, I am hoping to be more active then ever here on my blog and reach the thousands of others (especially students!) here in Ireland- particularly Dublin.
It only seemed right to have one of my first articles feature two of my favorite European things… Brunch and coffee! So here is my compilation of favorite cafes where you can indulge in all-day breakfast, brunch, and coffee galore. xoxo
Nutbutter , Dublin 2
Prior to visiting, I had this spot bookmarked since back in January when I decided to move out here. It was even better than I expected!
If you know me, I am a complete Acai and peanut butter snob, and have been having serious withdrawals being here (peanut butter isn’t as common here?). Let me just tell you… This was probably the best Acai Bowl I have ever had, and, of course, I had peanut butter blended in! 🥜😍 The Almond Butter toast was equally incredible, probably because they make their own almond butter in-house!
A couple of weeks later, I had a chance to sit down and chat with the genius behind Nutbutter- Mr. Paddy Hogan. While he was born and raised in Dublin, Paddy has spent a decent amount of time traveling, particularly in the States. Almost all of his life, he has been emerged in the restaurant and food/beverage industry, which led him to open his first concept in 2015, HQ Gastropub (located right next to Nutbutter). After a medical scare in 2016, however, Paddy took a step back and really thought about what he was doing with his life. Inspired by the health-food and vegan movement in Los Angeles, he decided to launch a completely new concept in Dublin based on all his favorite meals and foods…: healthier foods that look after your body. When asked to describe his inspiration, Paddy said he wanted to, “…design something that [he] wants to eat.” With a passion and a vision, he developed and opened the first Nutbutter location (yes- he is planning to expand!) To bring his ideas to life, Paddy brought on HQ’s executive chef, Carlos, a Venezuelan former-engineer with a love for cooking.
Today, Nutbutter is loved by many locals (especially me!) and is the perfect spot for nourishing, unique, and fresh cuisine. As the company grows, Paddy is focused on “making a positive impact, community outreach, and being able to make an impact on peoples’ livelihood.”
The Pepper Pot, Dublin 2
This was actually the first (and still one of the best) brunches I had in Dublin. The Pepper Pot is an adorable little cafe located on the 2nd floor of the Powerscourt Town House Centre with lots of scrumptious all-day breakfast, savory, & sweet offerings. Best of all… they make everything in-house, including BAGELS.
Not only is the food spectacular, Pepper Pot has the quintessential cafe atmosphere.
I got a chance to sit down and chat with Marian, the mastermind behind Pepper Pot, to learn a little more about the cafe. 9 years ago, she opened the doors to Pepper Pot with a passion for baking. As a home chef and baker from Dublin, Marian always wanted to open a cafe where she could do what she loves everyday. As she put it, “a lifestyle to bake everyday and make money doing something I love.”
Unlike many other Dublin cafes, Pepper Pot distinguishes itself by making literally everything in-house… even the jam! The menu boasts all-day breakfast, lunch items, sweet treats, and daily specials.
Fun fact: they also do barista classes once a month! How fun!
Meet Me in the Morning, Dublin 8
I will gladly meet you in the morning if it involves Meet Me in the Morning cafe 🥰 This
has been another one of my favorite little spots in Dublin thus far, especially since they make a majority of their
offerings in-house; even the baked goods and nut butter. 😋
Plus, they source all of their ingredients from local farms, bakeries, etc.🥐🍎Check out the AMAZING fresh plums on my yogurt parfait!🍇🍨
One Society Cafe, Dublin 1
How lucky am I that I have a wonderful little cafe within five steps of my apartment!? This cafe just happens to be One Society, an all-day eatery and coffee shop with daytime brunch & lunch, and evening dinner. The granola parfait I enjoyed here was definitely

one to remember since it was dusted in powdered sugar and tasted scrumptious! The kitchen also accommodated my request for a PB&J by serving me toast, peanut butter, and jam to satisfy my craving.
Hatch & Sons, Dublin 1
Hatch & Sons is a tiny little spot nestled away from the hustle & bustle near Stephen’s Green. Follow the little staircase down, and find your new favorite haven! Freshly baked
yummies, lots of coffee, perfect-sized sandwiches called “blaas”, and Friday Supper Club (which I am dying to partake in!). As their website says, “All day dining of an informal and easy nature. No fuss just good honest Irish food.” I love this!
The Fumbally Cafe, Dublin 8
Everyone and their mother seemed to be mentioning the Fumbally to me, so I had to go see what the hype was about. Loved that they had such an eclectic menu with unique
offerings like “Everything Free” Granola & Vegan Toast! Who knew that nut butter, fermented cabbage, soya crema, & jalapeños on toast could be tasty?☺️🥜🌶🍞 This is definitely a spot for all the hipsters and coffee shop-enthusiasts out there, and the
popularity is real. Be prepared to queue to order and possibly for a table. Service was exceptional, and the staff were very friendly!
Pot Bellied Pig, Dublin 6
Don’t let the name of this adorable, pink, posh, and
flower-y cafe… Pot Bellied Pig in Rathmines is definitely a hidden gem and brunch/coffee haven! Plus, they use Firehouse Bread and Meridian Foods peanut butter! I love that they have all-day brunch, delicious coffee, and… Weekend Drag Brunch!
Two Pups Coffee, Dublin 8
I knew I had to try the famous “Avocado Toast” from Two Pups Coffee in the Liberties after seeing so many photos and posts about it.🐶🐶 Don’t let the strange combination fool you: “Le levain sourdough, crispy garlic peanut butter, green chili & olive oil”

Sounds weird, tastes delicious: especially when three of your favorite foods include sourdough, avocado, and peanut butter!🍞🥑🥜
No granola and yogurt offered during breakfast/brunch here, but this delicious concoction was worth it!
Grove Road, Dublin 6
This spot is out of the main town, down south in Rathmines (where I have found the most amazing, small,
local cafes with great food & people!). Love their all-day brunch, breakfast, lunch, and especially weekend offerings! They even have fresh-pressed juices! Grove Road is a tiny cafe, so be prepared for a well-worth wait. Make sure to check out their chalk board for daily specials!
