Find a New Favorite…Just “Wing It”

As a student, “budget” has become my middle name, which means cooking dinner and packing lunch everyday. This also means a serious shortage of fried, cheesy, comfort food… a paradox in itself: good for my health, bad for my soul! I’ve been seriously missing my “happy hour type” foods…: nachos, loaded fries, and wings. So, when I heard about this Dublin hotspot, “Wing It,” I knew I had to cure my cravings and give it a try.

02CEE0E1-FC14-4E8A-B3F1-25A2A74C6A04Upon arrival at the St. George’s Street location, I was a bit surprised to step foot in to a contemporary, hip, Instagrammable building that was buzzing with people and trendy vibe. As my guest and I were led to our table, I took in the neon signs, funky decor, and bright, shining bar in front of me.

The food menu boasts a variety of 13 flavors that you can choose from for your traditional, boneless, or VEGAN (!) wings. There are also “buns”, sides, and fully loaded fries! We tried the the garlic parm wings, the sweet chili wings, the buffalo fries, and the “pork star” fries – sweet potato style. Oh. My. Gosh. Everything was SO good. When I entered Wing It, I had NO idea that my tastebuds were going to experience the best 3A35AE14-680F-448F-9FAC-2EA2CF8A0D75wings ever. Seriously; the meat was so tender, the breading was perfect (far from greasy), and flavor was the opposite of lacking. The loaded fries were equally memorable, particularly because they were not your everyday menu offerings. The buffalo (WAFFLE) fries had the perfect balance between mild buffalo and creamy blue cheese – and not soggy! The “pork star” fries (which I highly recommend with sweet potato fries!) were topped with some divine pulled pork, slaw, and shredded cheese. To wash everything down, do not pass up IMG_3100the “Dirty Dame” draught… It’s brewed by Wing It and pairs perfectly with the food!

I can’t wait to return to Wing It as the rest of the menu offerings and wing flavors call my name! Although, it will be a bit challenging to resist the four favorites I have already found!

Wing It was inspired 9 years ago by three students from Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. Coming to Dublin, they noticed the lack of wing eateries and knew that needed to change. They set up shop as a small market stall testing out recipes, which they quickly out-grew. Demand led them to opening a food truck and eventually two restaurants here in Dublin! Now-a-days, Wing It has a loyal Dublin following (including myself) – especially among Vegan eaters. Carnivores and herbivores can come together for a meal of fried-goodness and beer in a swanky atmosphere here at Wing It. This is a must-try for Dublin locals CF6390A7-BBA4-4CE6-AF29-A3C612DFC32Band tourists alike!
