Growing up in California, I was born and raised in a baseball loving, Dodger-die-hard family. I never really took much interest in the sport itself, but I’ve always loved the spirit surrounding it…Especially when it comes to going to games. In the past few years, many stadiums have really started to “up” their food game and offer “Instagrammable” dishes and treats, which has made going to games even better! Foodies can now rejoice even more when they see the latest Kingsford “Taste of the Game” cookbook, featuring 30 regional classics inspired by the teams of Major League Baseball! When I found out about this new book, I could not wait to start ripping through all of the recipes and seeing which creations were paired with which teams. Each recipe was creatively inspired by the teams and cities of Major League Baseball, so choose your team, step up to the plate, and get ready to score a home run with these fan-favorite creations!

When I got my book, I decided to open to a random page and create whichever recipe was there… and it turned out to be one of my favorite foods: poutine!

Inspired by the Toronto Blue Jays, I made Kingsford’s recipe for Pulled Pork Poutine. “Fries. Cheese. Gravy. What’s not to love? If you’re not familiar with the Canadian creation of poutine, it’s time to make up for lost time. Our version features tender pulled pork smoked on the grill, with just the right touch of KC Masterpiece® Barbecue Sauce.”

As usual, I put Dad on smoking duty (his favorite thing to do, other than watching baseball) and prepared the rest of the meal. Nothing beats a good ol’ BBQ dinner while watching the game-

and, yes, we really do only use Kingsford charcoal in this house. Everything turned out DELICIOUS; how can you go wrong with three of my favorite things? Pulled Pork. Fries. Cheese. I’m a happy camper.
