Prior to my travels, I always spend countless hours researching where to go, what to do, where to eat, and what to see. Strangely enough, it wasn’t until a couple of days prior to my arrival in Rome that I stumbled across “Sublime Tours.” And boy- am I glad I did! Because they are a fairly new company, I am especially excited to share my experience on their epic food tour!
After meeting up with our guide, Francesca, and the two other guests, we set out for what would be a night of food, drinks, fun, and, well, more food! We journeyed to eight different stops, each serving us a unique piece of Roman culture. Out of everywhere we stopped, Dar Filettaro and Ristorante Impiccetta particularly resonated with me. Why? At Dar Filettaro, we each got a fried Cod fish fillet; something so tasty and distinct to this one little shop (so we were told!).
As the seventh stop, we were not expecting to sit down for a full meal at Ristorante Impiccetta, which was such a pleasant surprise! The small, authentic, off-the-beaten path restaurant brought us out wine, bread, and three different types of pasta: cacio e pepe, carbonara, and amatriciana: three specific dishes that I was dying to try!
Out of all the tours I have been on, Sublime has certainly been one of the best bang-for-your-bucks. Our tour guide, Francesca, was also very sweet, energetic, and enthusiastic during our journey, which always makes these tours even more memorable.
