To me, Italy seems like 20 mini countries: one for each region. Not only is each region so different, but so are each and every one of the unique cities found within. However, from North to South, East to West, one thing about Italy always stays the same: incredible, fresh, memorable food. This is what has me head-over-heels in love with Italy!
On my recent Europe trip, I had the opportunity to explore yet another Italian city: Milan. As I started planning, I was so excited to see that one of my favorite tour companies, Fat Tire Tours, had a wide variety of experiences in the city. The Evening Food Tour particularly caught my eye and, luckily, they had spots available for my colleague and I during our visit!
To get ourselves acclimated with the flourishing city, we set off on a culinary and historical adventure the first night we arrived- definitely a great decision. Although the tour was set in just one of the many Milan neighborhoods (Brera), our stellar tour guide, Debbie, provided us with SO much knowledge of the entire city, through its cuisine, people, and history.
During the three hours, we visited six different eateries with several stops along the way to learn of Milan’s history and important buildings. Our group was quite large which, at first, had me a bit skeptical. By the end, though, we were all talking, laughing, and having a blast together. All of these elements combined made this a fabulous and enlightening tour that offered much more than a bunch of delicious food. Hats off and props to Fat Tire Tours once again – offering all of this is one tour is not an easy task!
