When you find yourself unexpectedly in Singapore and the opportunity to finally visit the country you have been dreaming of reaching your entire life, well… you can’t pass it up – even if it means no time to plan. I always intended to make this dream come true to explore Thailand and spend a year planning and prepping, so this was quite stressful but SO worth it. As someone who goes to a great extent doing thorough research on every detail, where to stay always seems to be and endless dilemma. So when I came across the Centara Watergate Pavilion Hotel in Bangkok boasting a prime location, exceptional service, beautiful rooms with great views, a rooftop bar, and restaurants, I took a chance and was very far from disappointed.
When it comes to ticking all of “Shelby’s Perfect Accommodation” checklist, location, kind, attentive, friendly service, and cleanliness are not negotiable. The Centara Watergate Pavilion Hotel did not only make the marks, it went far beyond. Situation in the heart of Pratunam area of the hustling and bustling Bangkok city, you can easily get anywhere you need walking, public transportation (BTS Skytrain, expressway, and more are within walking proximity no worry!), or, my personal favorite, a motorbike (which you can call just like a car via the Grab app, and it will cost you sometimes as little at $0.50 USD!). The hotel itself is found just a few floors above the Watergate Pavilion Shopping mall and right outside food, street vendors, shops and more are a few footsteps away. Let’s just say I could easily find street food pretty much every hour of the night! Which wasn’t completely necessary, however, thanks to the 24-hour room service (LOVE that I could ALWAYS find something to eat without leaving my humble abode- other hotels need to take note!). All of your major Bangkok shopping malls are very close by as well, which made it shopping, eating, and exploring a breeze (easy peasy for lugging all of my souvenirs and random purchased paraphernalia back hehe).
Now, a little more specifics on some of my favorite features…
The Rooms:

The hotel offers every type of stay you might be searching for, whether you are a solo traveler like me, a couple, a family, or a large group traveling together, you have your choice of sleek, urban suites that all have plenty of space, comfort, and clean, modern vibe. I loved that all of the rooms had large, bright windows with breathe-taking views overlooking the city that never ceased to amaze me, whether it be waking up, turning in for the night, and everything in-between. The bed was very comfy, shower- fantastic!, TVs were SmartTvs, I had my coffee machine, and had a clean, tidy room every day thanks to the phenomenal housekeeping team. There are also family suites and deluxe suites for those who need even more space. Personally, I had the privilege of staying in one of those deluxe suites, which made it so hard to leave some days – especially if it was pouring rain. I felt like a princess in my 2-room little home which featured a gigantic bedroom bathroom, and living room. The bathroom had a huge tub and shower, tons of space, and excellent towels that made me feel so snuggly and clean every night. Because the team here is so attentive and fabulous, anything my high-maintenance self was just the push of a phone button away.
The Food:

A rooftop bar with dinner service, an all-day restaurant with both international and Thai dishes, along with your lobby bar and room service can all be found inside the hotel, so foodies do not need to fear. This is the Sauce Boss, and I approve this food – even the Thai dishes! My booking also included the daily breakfast buffet, which was stellar! You could find everything you could think of, but I found myself indulging on the fresh, local fruit and juice everyday. The team would even deliver it to my room!
Finally, let’s talk about the service. Being someone with very high standards, I could easily say I was taken very well care of, as were all the guests. You will always be greeted with a smile and rest-assured that you are enjoying yourself with every need met. I always felt safe and like there was a hotel-full of people looking out for me during my adventure-packed time in Thailand.

Thailand was a dream come true to me, and Bangkok, being my first Thai destination, will always be a memorable one thanks to my perfect stay at Centara Watergate Pavilion Hotel. I highly recommend this to first-time visitors or those coming back for the hundredth time. Whether you are a family, a couple, or a solo traveler looking to relax and have fun like me, this is your spot – no debate or stress in planning needed.
