Breakfast Republic is one of those “fun” places… The type that you walk in, and your immediately in a good mood. You know the food will be as great and fun as the experience you’re about to have. At least, that was the vibe I got when I visited the Liberty Station location for brunch with two close friends of mine!

As for the other four San Diego locations, I have heard the same thing about them all! During my visit, I didn’t really learn much about the chef, owner, ingredients, vision, etc, but I enjoyed the food and had a great time.

Out of the dishes I tried, the super star was the FRENCH TOAST – something I usually never order or like. HOLY. MOLY. MOTHER OF CARBS AND ALL THINGS SWEET. It will change your life. I will be returning to Breakfast Republic SOLELY because of the French Toast. God Bless my buddies for ordering the PERFECT French Toast sampler : Mascarpone/Strawberry, Mr. Presley, and Cinnamon Roll. What makes the French Toast so perfect, you ask? The Brioche bread from Bread & Cie (see my article on this bakery!).

This has been the first breakfast eatery I have ever been to where I would never bother with the pancakes again… Only the French Toast. Also, make SURE to try some of BR’s HOUSE MADE berry jam too!
