Milk & Eggs : Makes My Cooking Easy and Fresh!

I’m sure you have heard of the many, new grocery delivery options popping up. Amazon Fresh, Instacart, Hello Fresh, Blue Apron, and so on… I like to call it them the grocery Ubers. I was never interested in any of these, until I stumbled upon Milk & Eggs at the recent OC Weekly Summer Fest event.

Through Milk & Eggs, all the products are sourced from local growers or aggregators. If not available due to seasonality, they will still be procured through a local aggregator.

“The delivery system allows for a minimal carbon footprint, up to 80% less than customers going to the grocery store themselves. One emissary (driver) can deliver many orders in 1 efficient trip, saving on both emissions and the environment; not to mention saving you time. And with our minimal packaging and reusable bags, we are close to a 0% waste delivery vessel.”

“All overage or waste are donated to local food banks and charities. With our streamlined operations, we have very little overage or waste. But growers and farmers will sometimes have product that we deem not sell-able to you, as benefactor. All of those products are donated to local food banks and charities that better our community. Again holding true to our 0 waste belief.”

So how exactly does it work, you ask? Simple.

  1. You place order online
  2. Farms deliver to our Sorting & Aggregation Warehouse (SAW) at night
  3. Driver (Emissary) heads to our SAW (Sorting & Aggregation Warehouse) in the morning
  4. Picks up deliveries
  5. Drops off deliveries in the morning (delivery as soon as 24 hours)
  6. Happy customer with Better Foods for Better Health! And saved a trip to the store!

Last week, I planned out a dinner I wanted to make on Sunday, placed my order, scheduled for my groceries to be delivered on Tuesday, and boom! Tuesday morning by SIX A.M (!!), they were on my doorstep in a nice, insulated, bright bag. (Did I mention delivery is FREE with a $35 purchase!?!?) I could not believe how cold they stayed all day as I drove around from errand-to-errand. When I got home and started cooking, I was amazed at how fresh all my produce was. I also LOVE how Milk & Eggs sells so many local brands that you find at farmer’s markets – such as Brothers Products. Seriously, they make probably the BEST dips, hummus, spreads, pita bread, and pita chips on the market.

With my first Milk & Eggs delivery, I made a (mostly) Vegan dinner using tomatoes, onions, Brothers pita bread & garlic spread, sweet potato sticks, and KiteHill almond ricotta “cheese” that I had ordered.

Stay tuned to my Instagram and blog for what I am making and which Milk & Eggs Products I am using. I am SO happy I discovered this affordable, convenient, and fresh way of getting groceries!
